Mitsubishi updates Outlander for 2020

Mitsubishi has given the Outlander mid-size SUV yet another round of updates to bring it more inline with the competition. Applied to all 2020 Outlander, the update is designed to deliver a more refined and functional SUV through improved specifications across the range.

The 2020 model year Outlander Exceed range-topper incorporates the latest generation of Mitsubishi’s Super All Wheel Control (S-AWC) system with active yaw technology, which offers a choice of advanced drive modes – AWC Eco, Normal, Snow and now Gravel.

A new eight-inch infotainment system includes a touchscreen display, and Exceed drivers will benefit from built-in navigation technology.

Safety technology has been further enhanced. The ES 2.4L model now has Forward Collision Mitigation as standard, as are rain sensing wipers, dusk sensing headlamps and auto dimming for the rear view mirror. In the Exceed model, the Outlander is the first model in the Mitsubishi range to display speed limit information in multi-information display sourcing data from the navigation app.

Inside, the introduction of a power lumber adjustment promises improved driver comfort across the range. Redesigned second-row seats have improved cushioning for passengers, whom also benefit from the introduction of an additional rear USB charging port, and improved climate controls.

The introduction of a new overhead console, which incorporates sunglasses holder, seatbelt reminder and passenger airbag cut-off indicator gives the driver quick access to frequently used functions.

The updated Mitsubishi Outlander continues to be offered with a range of petrol and diesel engines – a 2.0-litre or 2.4-litre four-cylinder petrol and 2.2-litre turbo diesel. The base 2.0-litre ES model is available with either a 5-speed manual or an automatic Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT) while the more powerful 2.4-litre only comes equipped with CVT. The diesel variants use a six-speed automatic.
