LaFerrari takes center stage at inaugural Australian Motoring Festival

Ferrari is giving fans Down Under a chance to view the brand’s most extreme and expensive supercar, the LaFerrari. The $3 million limited production hybrid supercar takes center stage today at the inaugural Australian Motoring Festival in Melbourne, which opens its door from 26 to 29 March.

The LaFerrari is the centrepiece of the 2000 square metre Ferrari exhibition, the largest in the southern hemisphere, featuring more than $30 million of its iconic sports cars, bringing Ferrari engineering, design and passion to Melbourne.

Limited to only 499 vehicles worldwide, the LaFerrari boasts a 6.3-liter V12 engine capable of revving to 9,350 rpms, matched with electric motors. Combined, the hybrid powertrain churns out an incredible 588kW. All of this adds up to a 0 to 100 kph time of under 3 seconds. With the aerodynamics of a Formula 1, the unique HY-KERS hybrid drivetrain, and Ferrari’s signature design aesthetics, the LaFerrari represents the pinnacle of Italian automotive engineering.

Surrounding the LaFerrari supercar will be a uniquely Ferrari experience featuring 30 years of Ferrari supercar history, a Ferrari showroom with the latest range of Ferrari road cars, and Ferrari Kids Zone with interactive displays, racing simulators and slot cars.

“The Ferrari experience at the festival is going to be something that no Ferrari fan in Australia will want to miss,” said Australian Motoring Festival Event Director Kylie Wood.

“Ferrari is committed to showcasing the very best they have to offer at the event, on a scale you won’t be able to find anywhere else in the Southern Hemisphere. With the Ferrari Kids Zone, historical Ferrari exhibit and the latest model road cars on display, there will be something on offer for Ferrari fans of any age.”

Three other mainstream manufacturers are also exhibiting at the festival, including Toyota, Mercedes and Volvo.

The Australian Motoring Festival runs from 26 to 29 March with opening hours as follows:

Thursday 26 March:        10am – 8pm

Friday 27 March:               10am – 8pm

Saturday 28 March:         10am – 8pm

Sunday 29 March:            10am – 6pm
