Event: 2011 Japan Super GT Championship Season Opener GT500

The season opening round of the 2011 Super GT Championship took place over the weekend at the famous Fuji Speedway in Shizuoka Prefecture, Japan. The circuit was supposed to be the second round in the calendar after Okayama. However due to the recent devastating earth quake in Japan, the season was delayed and the Okayama round had to be cancelled.

The weather wasn’t very forgiving for race day with rain drenching the track for the entire race. With wet track conditions, safety car was called to lead the first five laps of the race. GT500 class winner was Motul Autech GT-R with Eneos Sustina SC430 came in second and third place was WedsSport Advan SC430.
