Modellista offers sizzling Toyota C-HR body kit

Toyota’s flamboyantly styled C-HR isn’t arriving until February 2017 but aftermarket body kits are already flooding in for the chic crossover.

Here’s one from Japanese tuner Modellista. At the front, the Modellista dressed C-HR gains a chrome-accented front grill garnish that connects the headlamps, complemented with a chunky front bumper lip spoiler.

The C-HR’s side view is beefed up with deep side skirts and gloss black 19-inch wheels, while at the rear a bumper skirt with integrated muffler bezel and boot lid spoiler set off a sportier look.

Strictly a styling exercise, the tuner has left the C-HR’s drivetrain intact. The newly developed four-cylinder direct injection 1.2-litre turbocharged petrol engine delivers 85kW and generates peak torque of 185Nm from just 1,500rpm all the way to 4,000rpm.

The powertrain is mated to either a six-speed manual gearbox with auto rev matching or a seven-stepped continuously variable transmission (CVT). CVT-equipped versions are available with either front- or all-wheel drive.
