ABT transforms Audi RS 4 into a police car

When it comes to the baddest Police street weapon, we have seen a fair share of them here in Australia, such as the BMW M3, BMW M5, Honda Civic Type R and Tesla Model X. But here’s something fresh from Germany. Unveiled at the Essen Motor Show, this fully done up Audi RS 4 Avant is sure to out run a few street racers with its fire-breathing 500hp (395kW) engine lurking under the bonnet.

Built by Audi tuning specialist ABT and fully draped in police livery, the RS4-R Avant is the tuner’s response to this year’s Essen Motor Show theme of “Tune it Safe”. The car sits lower to the ground with a set of sports lowering suspension, with the bulging wheel arches wrapping around custom 21-inch wheels shod with Hankook high performance tyres.

Fully decked out with police equipment, the roof is equipped with the obligatory flashing blue and red lights, while the exhaust has been upgraded with a 4-inch (102mm) carbon tailpipe. Aggressive aero comes in the form of a lip spoiler, side sill and rear diffuser.

Inside, carbon fibre is used for the gear shifters, center consoles, and door trims. A set of sport seats with ABT “RS4-R” embroilment ensure the police officers are held in tight during pursuits.

The RS 4’s 2.9-liter V6 twin turbo engine churns out 395kW and 690Nm of torque, enough to propel the sports wagon from 0 to 100km/h in just 4.1 second, en route to a limited top speed of 280km/h.
