Volkswagen Golf GTI Clubsport S Wagon. Anyone?

2016 volkswagen golf gti clubsport s wagon render

Ever wondered what the Volkswagen Golf GTI Clubsport S would look like as a wagon? Wonder no more, as X-Tomi Design has unveiled their interpretation of the super wagon in this realistic render.

Sporting the more aggressive front bumper, front splitter, side sill extension and 19-inch wheels of the Clubsport S, the wagon does look rather sexy, with all the black elements complementing the whole racy red look relatively well.

Don’t expect Volkswagen to build this hot chariot though, as the whole point of the Golf GTI Clubsport S is light and no frills fun, where even the rear seats – and rear doors – have been disposed off.

The limited production, front-wheel drive Nordschleife king recently set a ring lap record of 7:49.21, beating more powerful cars such as the BMW M4.

It features a tweaked version of the Golf GTI’s 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder churning out an impressive 228kW and 380Nm of torque. Matched with a six-speed manual transmission, the Clubsport S will accelerate from 0-100km/h in just 5.8 seconds en route to a top speed of 261km/h.
