Toyota teases next-gen Camry ahead of Detroit debut

Toyota has released a sneak peak of the next-generation Camry ahead of its debut at the North American International Auto Show in January 2017.

The single teaser shot of the mid-size sedan’s rear quarter panel hints at a new Camry breaking tradition. The bold-new taillight is nothing short of dramatic, complemented with sharp creases and sculpted surfaces. There’s even an air breather that drops from the taillight, whether or not it’s functional is a different story. We also see a boot lid spoiler, curved rear windscreen and new wheel design with low profile tyres.

Only earlier last month, a 2017 Camry prototype was spotted testing on public roads in America. Judging by the looks of things, there’s every possibility Toyota could be cooking up a performance version of the new Camry, the first all-new model in more than six years.

Regardless, these first signs of a sportier Camry are no doubt very welcoming. All will be unveiled next January in Detroit.
