The Morgan EV3 made its first public debut at the Geneva Motor Show. It’s the company’s first all-electric production vehicle which is based on the highly successful 3 Wheeler sports car.

The EV3 is essentially a drivetrain swapped 3 wheeler. In place of the regular 60kW V-twin engine, the EV3 will now carry a 46kW liquid-cooled electric motor. The accumulator is lithium based and offers 20kWh capacity with an approximate range of 241km on a single charge. Morgan claims the car accelerates from 0-100km/h in under 9 seconds, with a top speed in excess of 145km/h.

Typically electric drivetrains make for significantly heavier vehicles. This isn’t the case with the EV3, clever use of carbon fibre have allowed Morgan to shed more weight than previously possible, making the vehicle lighter yet still just as structurally rigid as the standard 3 Wheeler.

The interior features a classic ‘magneto’ switch for drive selection, a colour screen and a wood, brass and polished aluminium trim.
