Scoop! Is this the 2021 Toyota Hilux?

A series of rendered images, which appears to be the 2021 Toyota Hilux, have appeared online overnight.

Posted on Milele Motors website, the unofficial images suggest the updated Hilux will feature a bolder front fascia and revised taillights. The renderings are believed to be inspired by confidential internal illustration of possible Toyota Hilux design proposals.

It is understood the 2021 model will be a heavily facelifted version of the current-generation model which was first introduced in mid-2015.

Under the bonnet, the Hilux’s 2.8-litre four-cylinder turbo-diesel engine is expected to receive a modest boost in power and torque from the current output of 130kW/450Nm (auto) and 130kW/420Nm (manual).

There have also been rumours that suggest a high-output version of the engine will find its way into top-spec versions of the popular ute, but that remains unconfirmed.

The Hilux is consistently the top-selling 4×4 on the market, going head-to-head with the Ford Ranger to podium.

The new Hilux is expected to arrive in late July and couldn’t come soon enough, with the Ranger outselling it for the first three months of this year.

Stay tuned for updates.
