Pricing and Specification: Toyota HiLux Rogue, Rugged and Rugged X

Toyota’s three new top-end 4×4 HiLux models take Australia’s best-selling vehicle in 2017 to a greater level of strength and style. With the Rugged X and Rugged set to satisfy those who hanker for serious off-road adventure and the Rogue complementing its double-cab practicality with a more refined sense of urban style, all three new HiLux models feature an extensive array of exterior and interior design and equipment enhancements.

As the new top-of-the-range HiLux fully equipped for off-road adventures straight out the showroom, the Rugged X is priced from $61,690 in manual guise and $63,690 as an automatic.

The style leading automatic-only HiLux Rogue is priced from $61,690. Blending the best of off-road and on-road protective and functional features, the HiLux SR-based Rugged is priced from $54,990 as a manual with the six-speed automatic option adding $2000.

All prices exclude on-road costs.

All three new HiLux models share the same mechanical specifications as the SR5 or SR models on which they are based and are powered by a 2.8-litre turbo-diesel engine.

Driving through a part-time, shift-on-the-fly 4×4 system with a full set of low-range ratios, the engine generates maximum power of 130kW and 450Nm of torque with the optional six-speed automatic transmission or 420Nm when mated to the six-speed manual gearbox.

Toyota HiLux Rugged X

Based on the HiLux SR5 double-cab, the 2.8-litre turbo-diesel Rugged X is offered with a choice of six-speed manual or automatic transmissions.
