Nissan’s Intelligent Easy Fill Tyre Alert System

The tyres are probably the most neglected parts of a car, and yet they perform one of the most important functions of keeping its occupants safe.

Most people only ever check their tyre pressure and tread wear once in a blue moon, where in reality, it is recommended that the procedures are done every fortnight.

Porsche first invented the tyre pressure monitoring system back in 1983, which made its debut on the 959. Today, different iterations of the system are available, but generally only on high-end and performance models. It is a simple yet effective system and works by sending a signal to the instrument panel to alert the driver. However, you are left wondering which one of the tyres are under-inflated.

Nissan has now come to the rescue with its Easy Fill Tyre Alert System, which it is making standard equipment on its 2013 model year vehicles in the USA.

The system will tell you which tyres are under-inflated and honk the car’s horn when you have inflated your tyres to the correct pressure.

Watch the video below on a demonstration of how the system works.
