Lexus IS250C F Sport joins Australian line-up from $82,300

Lexus has introduced its 11th F Sport model in Australia – the Lexus IS 250C F Sport. Based on the IS 250C, the convertible F Sport follows other sports models in the Lexus range by adding styling and suspension tweaks for a sportier drive.

In the IS250C F Sport, Lexus engineers have revised its sports suspension with new bushings, returned dampers, a special rear stabiliser bar, and sportier spring rates. Together, these changes improve the drop top’s handling and driving dynamics.

Aesthetically, the IS250C F Sport cops a more aggressive body kit with sharper front bumper complete with F Sport fog lamps, lower lip spoiler and a unique mesh grille. It rolls on 10-spoke graphite-look 18-inch alloy wheels.

Inside, the sports seats are clad in black leather, featuring contrasting perforations and stitching. There is also an F Sport steering wheel and gear lever, scuff plates and black roof lining to reinforce the sporty feel.

No change has been made to the 2.5-litre naturally aspirated V6, as seen on the regular model. It produces 153kW of power and 252Nm of torque. Fuel consumption is rated at 9.3L/100km combined.

Lexus Australia chief executive Tony Cramb said that the arrival of Lexus’ 11th F Sport only reinforced the strength of the F Sport brand in Australia.

“F Sport has definitely resonated with Australian Lexus customers, with almost 50 per cent of IS 350 sales and one-third of CT 200h sales being F Sport models,” Mr Cramb said.

“Customers have come to appreciate the enhanced driving enjoyment and visual appeal that F Sport models bring, and IS 250C F Sport will be a welcome addition to the F Sport range.

“The addition of our 11th F Sport model reinforces the strength of the offering in Australia with F Sport models now available across our CT, IS, GS and RX lines, with the soon-to-be-launched LS 460 and LS 600h F Sport models rounding out the range,” he said.

Customers will be able to order the IS250C F Sport from November, priced from $82,300 plus on road costs. For an additional $6000, they can also add an enhancement pack that includes Pre-Collision safety system, active cruise control and a brilliant Mark Levinson audio system.
