Is this the all-new Mazda2?

With the entire Mazda range now sporting the company’s KODO design language, it’s only a matter of time before the baby of the range, the Mazda2 is given the corporate face treatment.

Now, thanks to this scanned image purportedly from a Japanese Magazine, we know what the all-new model will look like when it debuts sometime next year. From the contorted image, it seems the next Mazda2 will sport a rather rounded body shape, a bit like the first-generation Mazda 121.

It is unclear yet if the new car will be built on a shortened Mazda3/CX-5 platform, but one thing is certain – it will utilise the company’s suite of SkyActiv technologies like the rest of the range.

That means better efficiency and less weight.
