Spy photographers have uncovered more of the highly anticipated BMW M2 Coupe with fresh new spy shots of the 2 Series performance flagship.

The unofficial successor to the 1 Series M Coupe hit the public roads in Spain for further real world testing, after its stints at the Nurburgring circuit earlier in May this year.

Partially camouflaged, the M2 can be seen having the same bonnet, roof and boot body panels as the standard 2 Series coupe. Fans can however, look forward to some pumped up wheel fenders, side skirts, deeper front bumper with larger air intake, rear bumper with integrated diffuser and quad exhaust tips.

Speculation is that the M2 will get its power from a turbocharged 3.0-litre inline-six engine developing around 279 kW, making it 39 kW more powerful than the current range topping M235i Coupe. If all things go according to plan, we shall expect to see covers pulled off the BMW M2 by late 2015.
