Sir Jack Brabham

Australian racing legend, Sir Jack Brabham, has passed away today in Queensland, aged 88.

Sir Jack embodied the Australian spirit of tenacity and ingenuity, rising from being an apprentice RAAF mechanic and speedway racer in Sydney to winning 14 Grand Prixs.

Sir Jack was a pioneer of Australian and international motorsports and enjoyed success in different facets of the industry, including competition, engine development and technical innovation.  Most notably, Jack was recognised for his illustrious driving career which included three Formula One world championship titles and two Constructors’ champion titles.
