Audi RS6 Allroad reportedly coming in 2017

Audi is reportedly planning to introduce what could potentially be the only car one would ever need – the Audi RS6 Allroad.

Blending breathtaking performance with the versatility of a high-riding wagon complete with light off-road capability to haul the whole family at high speed, the high-performance Allroad could arrive as soon as 2017.

According to Autobild in Germany, power would come from the 4.0-litre biturbo V8 shared with the standard RS6 that churns out 412kW of power and 700Nm of torque. It isn’t clear whether Audi intends to offer the 445kW Performance Package on the RS6 Allroad. The package is standard on all Australian-delivered RS6.

However, don’t get too excited just yet as the RS6 Allroad will reportedly be exclusive to China, where customer demand for high-performance off-road vehicles are going through the roof.

Like the A6 Avant Allroad, the RS6 version will also get increased ride height complemented by tough body cladding and underbody protection.

While Audi hasn’t officially confirmed such a vehicle exists, all the parts required for the vehicle are already there, meaning reduced R&D costs and higher profit margins.

If it all pans out, the first RS6 Allroad could hit the roads – in China – sometime next year.
