2019 Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV now more affordable from $45,990

Mitsubishi Australia has sharpened the pricing of its updated 2019 Outlander plug-in hybrid electric SUV, including adding a new entry-level ES model priced from $45,990.

Like the rest of the Outlander range, styling update includes an updated Dynamic Shield grille, front and rear bumper design, along with fresh 18-inch alloy wheels.

For 2019, the freshened Outlander PHEV line-up will include the luxury Exceed variant, equipped with 360 degree Multi Around Monitor, Lane Change Assist (LCA) and Rear Cross Traffic Alert (RCTA), and entry-level ES with an optional Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) safety pack, replacing the Outlander PHEV LS.

The $1500 optional ADAS safety pack introduces Forward Collision Mitigation (FCM), Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) and Lane Departure Warning (LDW).

The 2019 Outlander PHEV range also gains one-touch power window operation from the driver’s door for all windows, illuminated power window switches, improved seat cushion design, soft leather-look centre console lid and rear seat air-conditioning outlets.

A quick ratio steering configuration is said to improve responsiveness and steering feel while larger diameter front struts and rear shock absorbers is claimed to have increased ride comfort and body control.

Dynamic performance is also enhanced thanks to new structural bonding which has increased rigidity.

The 2019 Outlander PHEV continues to utilise an 87kW/186Nm 2.0-litre/60kW plug-in hybrid petrol engine.

MMAL CEO John Signoriello said Outlander PHEV offers a smooth and efficient driving experience while enabling drivers to minimise their environmental impact.

“Outlander PHEV is a great demonstration of Mitsubishi’s plug-in hybrid capability and a fantastic EV solution for busy Australian urban lifestyles.”

“Thanks to its high-performance petrol-electric system, the Outlander PHEV delivers EV fuel economy alongside SUV practicality, providing a low-emission alternative for families and those requiring the flexibility and versatility of an SUV.”
