2019 Hyundai Tucson gains new look, safety and tech upgrade

Fresh interior and exterior styling, new SmartSense safety pack and a tablet-style infotainment system headline the facelifted 2019 Hyundai Tucson range, which goes on sale now.

The revised line-up comprises four variants, with the new range-opener now called Go and priced from $28,150 plus on-road costs.

On the styling front, the 2019 Tucson gains a new visage featuring a new interpretation of Hyundai’s cascading grille, restyled headlights and daytime running lights.

Fresh wheel designs, 17-inch for the Go and Active X, and machine-finished 18- and 19-inch for the Elite and Highlander rounds up the rejigged styling.

Inside, the Tucson gets a brand new dashboard a floating tablet-style multimedia system measuring 7-inch for the Go and 8-inch for the rest of the range, all with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto as standard.

The $37,850 Tucson Elite benefits with the addition of Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist (FCA), Blind-Spot Collision Warning (BCW) and Rear Cross-Traffic Collision Warning (RCCW), while the $46,500 range-topping Highlander adds a heated steering wheel and wireless (Qi) smartphone charging, amongst others.
