2017 Audi RS 3 Sedan unveiled with 294kW 5-cyl. engine

The new 2017 Audi RS 3 Sedan made its world premiere at the Paris Motor Show today.

Positioned as the new dynamic flagship of the A3 range, the RS 3 sedan is powered by a 2.5-litre turbocharged five-cylinder TFSI engine packing 294kW – 24kW more than the current RS 3 Sportback – accompanied by a maximum torque of 480Nm between 1,700 to 5,850rpm.

Driving all four wheels through Audi quattro and S tronic seven-speed dual clutch transmission the sports sedan sprints from 0 to 100 km/h in just 4.1 second, 0.2 second quicker than its hatch sibling. Top speed is limited to 250km/h.

Befitting its RS status, the RS 3 sedan packs enormous stopping power. The front brake discs have a diameter of 370 millimetres, while eight-piston calipers with large-area linings provide optimal deceleration. At the rear axle there are brake discs with a diameter of 310 millimetres. Standard on the RS 3 Sedan are 19-inch wheels and 255/30 tyres in in the front and 235/35 tyres at the rear.

Aesthetically, the Audi RS 3 Sedan features beefier front and rear bumpers, unique headlights and taillights, and RS-trademark dual oval exhaust tips. Inside, the car’s instruments get a sports version of Audi’s Virtual Cockpit.
