Nissan has refined its mighty GT-R supercar for 2015, further trimming off rough edges for a more comfortable and matured driving experience.

Since its releases in 2007, the Nissan GT-R has received yearly fine tuning. The 2015 updates further enhances Godzilla’s legacy as the ultimate everyday supercar, combining ballistic performance with good road manners and plush ride.

Improvements were already made this year to the current Nissan GT-R, focusing on driving comfort. The 2015 model takes it one step further, with new tweaks to give even better ride quality. Noise and vibration have also been significantly reduced to further improve comfort in the GT-R’s cabin.

Nissan says the new GT-R is more mature and civilised, while exhibiting better handling stability than ever before thanks to modifications to the car’s suspension. The damper rates and ECU have been fine tuned to improve cornering ability and reduce the amount of steering corrections necessary on rough roads.

For better straight-line stability and surefootedness over uneven road surfaces, Nissan has improved the material and inner structure of the tyres. The changes also improve ride quality and driver confidence.

The shim structure between the brake pads and caliper pistons has been modified, along with the brake pad itself, improving braking feel from initial activation and better overall braking control. Brake noise has been reduced without sacrificing performance.

Adjustments have also been made to the steering dynamic damper system, reducing vibration at engine idle.

As for drivetrain improvements, the management systems for the twin-turbo 3.8-litre V6 engine and six-speed twin-clutch transmission have been retuned for better refinement. Power output has remained the unchanged, however.

Modification has been made to the clearance (backlash) of the transaxle and driveshaft to reduce vibration and noise coming from stepping on and off the accelerator pedal. The bearings inside the flywheel housing have also been modified to reduce noise.

Nissan’s engineers have even changed the material for the boot carpet to improve insulation.

The updated Nissan GT-R is slated to arrive in Australia in early 2015.
