2015 Audi A1 Sportback 1.8 TFSI front quarter

The facelifted 2015 Audi A1 Sportback has made its way to Australia with two brand-new engines, larger wheels across the range and a $26,900 starting price for the new A1 Sportback 1.0 TFSI.

The all-new three-cylinder 1.0-litre TFSI engine now kicks the range off promising a good mix of performance and efficiency. It delivers 70kW and 160Nm of torque, and hits 100km/h in a leisurely 11.1 seconds when equipped with the optional 7-speed S tronic dual-clutch transmission. It is claimed to return an average consumption of just 4.4L/100km.

At the other end of the lineup, an all-new 1.8 TFSI engine shared with the Volkswagen Polo GTI has also been introduced. It boasts 141kW and 250Nm of torque, enough to send the small hatch from 0-100km/h in 6.9 seconds while returning a claimed 5.6L/100km. It comes standard with a 7-speed S tronic transmission.

In between them sits the carried over 1.4 TFSI with 92kW/200Nm that hits the century sprint in 8.9 seconds while sipping a claimed 4.9L/100km. Like the two new engines, the 1.4 TFSI is equipped with engine start-stop technology and advanced thermal management.

The 2015 model can be distinguished via a wider and flatter Singleframe grille, new headlights and taillights with new light signature. Inside, there a fresh materials and colours, as well as optional customisation kits.

The new Audi A1 Sportback range has been separated into three spec levels, based on their engine: the 1.0 TFSI entry-level, the 1.4 TFSI Sport and the 1.8 TFSI S line. All three models offer a high level of standard features, of which highlights include:
