2014 Mazda3 envisioned as a Coupe

The new 2014 Mazda3 is arguably one of the best looking cars in its segment. It is Mazda’s latest interpretation of the “KODO” design language. But Theophilus Chin has taken the design one step further by envisioning a coupe version of the all-new Mazda3.

Regardless of whether a Mazda3 coupe is actually in the pipeline, we think the coupe rendering looks even more stunning than the sedan and hatchback. With the absence of two rear doors, a sweeping roof line and short overhangs, the rendering shows us that the Mazda3 in coupe form is one sleek looking car.

With that, a Mazda3 coupe could pose serious threats to other front-drive coupe currently on the market including the Kia Cerato Koup (Kia Forte Koup), Hyundai Veloster and the Honda Civic Coupe (US market).

In Australia, the new 2014 Mazda3 will be offered with two engine choices at launch, the SKYACTIV-G 2.0-litre petrol engine and the new SKYACTIV-G 2.5-litre petrol engine. The 2.0-litre option produces 114kW of power and 200Nm of torque while the larger 2.5-litre alternative has an output of 138kW and 250Nm.
