World’s Greatest Drag Race by MotorTrend

American motoring publication, MotorTrend, has organised an epic drag race of a dozen performance cars from 2013. The fleet, worth almost US$1.9 million and packing enough horsepower to launch a space shuttle consists of front-, rear- and all-wheel drive cars.

There are four, six, eight, ten and twelve cylinders across the field, ranging from a 185kW Ford Focus ST to the latest 410kW Mercedes-Benz E63 S AMG. According to the publication, the lineup reflects the most important 2013 models on sale in the US, with one notable exception, the all-new Chevrolet Corvette Stingray, which wasn’t available in time for the test.
