Hyundai adds 3-door i30 to local line-up

Hyundai has added a new 3-door i30 to the local line-up. The ‘Special Edition’ i30 is powered by the brand’s 1.6-litre GDI petrol engine also seeing duty in the Hyundai Veloster. It delivers 98kW @ 6,300rpm and 163Nm @ 4,850rpm and is paired with a six-speed manual or six-speed automatic featuring sequential manual mode.

Designed at the Hyundai Motor Europe Technical Centre in Russelsheim, Germany, the 3-door i30 boasts an upswept belt-line, more angular glasshouse silhouette and sleek side character lines. A passenger walk-in device allows easy access to the rear seats.

Its dark chrome hexagonal grille is flanked by a pair of swept back projector headlights while lower down, there is a pair of fog lamp that is surrounded by LED daytime running light strips.

At the back, the 3-door features a restyled lower bumper area with sculpted fog lamps and roof mounted spoiler. This is complemented by a set of 16-inch alloy wheels.

The Hyundai i30 Special Edition is available in five exterior colours: Creamy White, Cool Red, Sleek Silver, Aqua Blue and Phantom Black.
