BMW will debut a 4 Series Hybrid at the upcoming Los Angeles Auto Show. While details are limited, this has been confirmed by the show’s organiser.

This comes as no surprise as BMW already has a BMW 3 Series-based hybrid called the ActiveHybrid 3. The 4 Series Hybrid will likely share its sibling’s drivetrain. This means we can expect a 3.0-litre 6-cylinder engine working in parallel with a 40kW electric motor for a combined maximum output of 250kW and 450Nm.

While no performance figures have been released just yet, when paired with an 8-speed sport automatic, the ActiveHybrid3 will accelerate from 0-100km/h in 5.3 seconds while returning a fuel consumption of 5.9L/100km. The car can also be driven in pure electric mode for up to 4km at speeds of up to 75km/h.
