2021 Nissan Qashqai Nismo envisioned

Hot on the heels of the 2021 Nissan Qashqai launch, the internet was quick to get down to work on a hotter version of the compact crossover. And it’s not just any hot version, but a Nismo flavoured model.

Nissan’s in-house performance tuning arm has been recently tweaking not just Nissan sports model but also regular nameplates such as the Leaf and Juke. So, it does make sense to imagine Nismo having a play with the all-new Qashqai.

Automotive renderer Kleber Silva of behance.net has done just that, dressing up a regular Qashqai with Nismo bits. And we must say it certainly looks the business. The front bumper has been given the familiar Nismo treatment, receiving a black chrome grille, larger intakes and a front lip spoiler with red accent. Matching the front, the side has been garnished with red-accented side skirts.

There’s no rear view of the Qashqai Nismo, but those blacked-out 20-inch wheels do complement those prominent wheel arches really well.

The standard 2021 Nissan Qashqai is powered by either a 116kW / 270Nm 1.3-litre turbo petrol engine, or a 1.5-litre petrol-electric hybrid with a combined output of 140kW. Both front- and all-wheel drive forms are available.

If the Nismo treatment becomes a reality, we can expect a slight bump in powertrain performance, along with sharpened dynamics.
