2015 Audi RS3 spied testing

Although the 2015 Audi RS3 is still a year or so away from reaching showrooms, a test mule of the uber hot hatch has been caught testing in Germany, not far from the Nurburgring.

The 2015 all-wheel drive RS3 is rumoured to feature the same 2.5-litre turbocharged 5-cylinder engine shared with the Audi TT RS. However, in order to remain competitive with rivals, the engine will be tweaked to produce more power than the current 250kW.

The current car will accelerate to 100km/h from a standstill in 4.6 seconds, making it one of the quickest hatchbacks around.

It is unclear at this stage whether Audi Australia will bring the new range topping A3 into Australia. The current RS3 was ruled out for Australia when it went on sale in Europe two years ago, with the local arm of Audi citing it would be too difficult and expensive to make the car comply with Australia’s strict design rules (ADRs).
