2010 SEMA: Kia Forte Koup Type R Concept

Kia will unveil a pumped up version of their popular Forte Koup 2 door coupe at the upcoming 2010 SEMA show. Called the Kia Forte Koup Type R Concept, it surely makes you think: Type R?? Yes, for unknown reason Kia is following the foot steps of Honda and decided to call their sports range Type R. However, this particular Type R from the Korean manufacturer is surely going to draw a crowd at the SEMA show with its genuinely good looks.

The car was developed by Kia’s performance partner in North America, Kinetic Motorsports. The car features extended fenders resulting in a wider body to give it a more aggressive stance. The front bumper has been completely redesigned with a huge front splitter. The Type R also gets new side skirts, a revised rear bumper with integrated twin exhaust tips and a rear spoiler. Matte gray body paint finishes up the bad boy look.

Filling up the bigger wheel arches is a set of BBS RG 18 inch wheels as well as a new set of lowering suspension to eliminate the gap between the wheels and the fenders.

Aesthetic is not the only thing on offer here as performance has also been given a boost with goodies such as composite clutch disc, upgraded brakes, tweaked ECU and shorter gearbox ratios.

The interior spots racing seats, carbon fibre inserts (must) and sports pedal and short shifter.
