Toyota GR Supra gets AC Schnitzer treatment

BMW tuning specialist AC Schnitzer has only ever played with, well, BMW and MINI cars. Until now. The German tuner has just revealed their latest project and it’s a Toyota Supra!

It’s not all that surprising, though, as the new GR Supra is based on the BMW Z4. This allowed AC Schnitzer to apply all their BMW knowhow to the Supra.

Shared with the Z4, the 3.0-litre turbocharged in-line six-cylinder engine produces 250kW and 500Nm from the factory. Thanks to a bespoke ECU tune which optimises ignition timing, fuel adjustment and boost pressure, AC Schnitzer has managed to crank power up to 294kW and 600Nm. The tuner offers a 36-month warranty for the engine upgrade.

No AC Schnitzer project is complete without some tasteful exterior mods. In the case of the Supra, the tuner has fitted a front lip spoiler and carbon fibre rear wing to improve front and rear downforce. The elongated bonnet also gets a pair of vents to better dissipate heat from the engine bay.

An AC Schnitzer rear muffler replaces the factory item for added aural theatrics, while the new forged 20-inch alloy wheels are an inch larger than stock.

Finally, a set of height adjustable coilover suspension kit gives a drop in ride height of up to 25mm, giving the Supra a properly aggressive stance.
