Tickford introduces Bathurst 1000 Supercharged Ford Mustang GT

Tickford Allan Moffat Bathurst 77 Special Edition – July 5th 2017

Tickford has announced a limited-edition, supercharged Ford Mustang GT created to mark Ford’s victory at the Bathurst 1000 in 1977.

Limited to just 77 units, the tweaked Mustang is based on the 5.0-litre V8 GT model and gains a set of distinctive 20-inch alloy wheels, a high-performance supercharger and a number of other yet-to-be-announced modifications.

The cars will be dressed in a nearly identical livery to the pair of Ford XC Falcons that claimed the famous one-two finish at Bathurst forty years ago, piloted by Allan Moffat and Colin Bond.

“The team at Tickford have done a very thorough job coming up with a modern interpretation of my 1977 XC Hardtop. While the Falcon has sadly been consigned to the history books, the Mustang was always one of my favourite cars to race and I had considerable success in them. Ford have done a great job with the latest one,” said Allan Moffat.

“The Tickford Bathurst ’77 Special looks amazing, produces an unbelievable amount of power and the finish across all areas of the vehicle highlights why the return of Tickford is so important for the Australia automotive industry. These guys know what they are doing and it shows in this special edition,” he continued.
