AC Schnitzer spices up BMW 2 Series Coupé

The BMW 2 Series Coupé is proving to be a popular choice with tuners, with yet another mob presenting their customisation programme for Munich’s latest coupé.

In fact, AC Schnitzer is offering not one, but five performance upgrades, starting with the 220i. Power is up by 45kW (61PS) from 135kW, while in the M235i, it gains an extra 40kW (54PS) for a total of 280kW.

While AC Schnitzer has not released any performance figures, it is safe to assume they will better the stock cars’ 7.0 and 4.8 seconds sprint to 100km/h from a standstill.

Meanwhile, the diesel-power variants have also been given a boost, with the 218d massaged to deliver 126kW, the 220d to 160kW and the 225d to 190kW.

Besides an ECU flash, AC Schnitzer is also offering a sports exhaust, a 30mm to 40mm drop in ride height, courtesy of lower and stiffer suspension, and 18 to 20-inch alloy wheels of various designs. The exterior styling front also includes a carbon front spoiler specifically tailored for M-Technik vehicles, carbon mirror caps and roof and boot lid spoilers.

Inside, the tuner is offering the usual aluminium handbrake lever, pedal sets and floor mats.
