Toyota 86 scores orange paint job and Brembo brakes in Japan

Toyota has released a limited edition 86 sports coupe for the Japanese domestic market. Called the Solar Orange Limited, the special edition Toyota 86 is based on the high-spec GTS variant and boasts a striking metallic orange exterior paint finish, complemented with gloss black door mirror housing and rear spoiler.

The bright new exterior is matched with a keynote black interior with “Ashirai” orange stitching on the steering wheel, gear lever, handbrake, sport seats, door trims and knee pads.

More than just a styling exercise, Toyota has also equipped the special edition model with Brembo brakes for added braking performance. The coupe’s dynamics also get a shake up with a set of SACHS performance dampers. Bespoke 17-inch forged aluminium wheels replace the factory items. These goodies can also be fitted to 86 models with standard factory colours.

The special edition Toyota 86 will be available from February 2017 in Japan only with no plans for overseas release.
