Top Gear officially resumes May 8 with new host Chris Evans


Despite the former trio leaving for their new show on Amazon, Top Gear will return for a new season commencing the 8th of May with Chris Evans as it’s new presenter.

The 49 year old producer will start his new role with BBC on May 8th which is a few days after filming ends. In a recent interview on BBC’s Saturday Kitchen show he mentioned “We’re going to America to make our first inter-continental in January“, the interview also suggested that he may be the only host on Top Gear and that there will be auditions for co-hosts.

According to The Guardian, the new top gear season will have 16 episodes and broadcasts will begin next year. In the meantime BBC will air a special Christmas episode using footage filmed with Clarkson, Hammond and May over the past 13 years. John bishop is slated to be the voice over while guest stars will be invited to present the episode.
