The highly successful and widely acclaimed Subaru BRZ has just gone better with the subsidiary of Fuji Heavy Industries announcing technical and cosmetic updates for the 2015 BRZ.
Headlining the update is the revised suspension with a new damper tune to give a smoother ride on rough surfaces.
Cosmetic changes include the introduction of a “shark fin” shape radio antenna, while inside there is a frameless rear-view mirror and silver instrument panel highlights are changed to matte carbon fibre-type trim.
Smart key technology is upgraded, along with the launch of three new colours: crystal white pearl, ice silver metallic and World Rally blue pearl – the latter exclusive to the Subaru BRZ.
The refresh comes at no extra cost with driveaway pricing unchanged at $37,150.
Along with its twin, the Toyota 86, the BRZ is powered by a 2.0-litre horizontally opposed boxer petrol engine. The high revving engine produces 147kW of maximum power – the equivalent of 100hp per litre – and a peak torque of 205Nm. Drive is channeled to the rear wheels via a six-speed manual or six-speed automatic transmission.
