Special Nissan GT-R50 by Italdesign enters limited production

Nissan has announced the Nissan GT-R50 by Italdesign will enter limited production after making its world debut at the Goodwood Festival of Speed in the U.K in July.

With a limited run of just 50 vehicles priced at a jaw dropping €990,000 (approximately A$1.55m) before taxes and options, the NISMO-tuned 537kW GT-R is said to be virtually unchanged from the prototype.

Created in collaboration with Turin-based Italdesign to celebrate the 50th anniversaries of the GR-R in 2019 and Italdesign in 2018, reaction from Nissan fans around the world has ‘greatly exceed’ Nissan’s expectations.

While the prototype was finished in a special grey with gold accents, customers of the production model could specify their preferred colour combinations, as well as interior colours and packages.

“These 50 cars, which celebrate 50 years of the GT-R as well as 50 years of Italdesign, will be rolling tributes to Nissan’s engineering leadership and rich sports car heritage for a long time to come,” said Bob Laishley, global sports car program director at Nissan.

The order books are now opened and customers can visit www.GT-R50.nissan to create their own bespoke vehicle.

Deliveries will begin in 2019 and will continue through 2020.
