Skoda has released new teaser images of their new SUV concept scheduled for debut at the Geneva Motor Show next month.

Offering a close preview of the company’s upcoming SUV, the VisionS concept features a bold Skoda grille at the front joined by racked back headlights. The lower grille spans the almost the width of the vehicle flanked by air intakes on both sides.

The heavily chiselled bonnet sets the tone for the bold shoulder lines that run the length of the SUV. The rear features sharp horizontal character lines emphasising its width. There are also dual exhaust tips.

Skoda’s next SUV is speculated to have three rows of seats, offering space for seven occupants and their luggage. It will rival the likes of Nissan X-Trail, Hyundai Santa Fe and Kia Sorento.

Although nothing is official at this stage, the production model, due to hit market next year, is expected to be called Kodiak and will utilise Volkswagen Group’s MQB platform.

Along with the teasers, Skoda also said in a statement: “Over recent years Skoda has completely renewed its model range and the next phase will involve broadening the range of models in the SUV segment.”
