Skoda VisionC concept – previews ‘Octavia CC’

Skoda VisionC concept sketch

Volkswagen-owned Czech-based automaker Skoda, has announced it will present the VisionC concept at the Geneva Motor Show next month. The announcement was accompanied by a sketch of the svelte five-door coupé.

This comes as Skoda’s chief, Winfried Vahland confirmed late last year that the brand has plans to bring a five-door coupé variant of the Octavia liftback to the market. Like the Volkswagen CC to the Passat, the “Octavia CC” will carry a more emotional styling than the regular Octavia, with a plunging roofline and shallow glasshouse.

Skoda said the production version of the VisionC is set to debut after the next-generation Fabia hit the market, which is scheduled for launch later this year.

While the brand has so far been known for its sometimes awkward styling, the VisionC will likely debut Skoda’s new sharper design language that is said to be more expressive, dynamic and emotional. The new design will eventually spread across all its models in the future.
