According to a report from USA Today, Lexus has decided to pull the plug on the IS F sports saloon.
Having experienced disappointing sales – only 486 units sold in the US last year – the IS F will be dropped from the new 2013 IS lineup, elevating the IS350 F-Sport to the top of the IS range.
The 5.0-litre V8 IS F was Lexus’ answer to BMW’s M3 and Mercedes’ C63 AMG. It produces 311 kW and 505 Nm of torque. An eight-speed automatic transmission sends power to the rear wheels.
For those still looking to purchase a V8 IS, Lexus says it will keep the 2013 IS F on sale until the end of the year.
