Nissan Qashqai updated for 2020, N-Sport joins range

The Nissan Qashqai compact crossover has been updated for 2020, adding comprehensive connectivity and active safety enhancements across the range.

The arrival of the updated Qashqai range also offers customers more opportunity for individual expression in the form of the limited edition N-Sport model, which will sit between the ST-L and range-topping Ti.

For the entry-level ST, additional equipment comprises Apple Car Play and Android Auto compatible infotainment system with voice recognition and digital radio receiver integrated into Nissan’s next-generation 7-inch screen.

The ST+ model adds new rain-sensing wipers, automatic headlights with High Beam Assist, fog lights, Intelligent Driver Alert, Rear Cross Traffic Alert and Blind Spot Warning technology. For the range-topping Ti model, its already very high level of specification is enhanced by the addition of Pedestrian Detection (with Intelligent Emergency Braking) that operates at speeds up to 60km/h.

Standard interior features offered across the range include Intelligent Key® with keyless entry/close, push button ignition, Electronic Park Brake, front and rear parking sensors, Rear View Camera, LED Daytime Running Lights, Bluetooth® handsfree phone system, cruise control, manual tilt and telescopic adjustable steering column, 60/40 split fold second row seating, ISOFIX child restraint anchorage points and four rear cargo area luggage hooks.

Nissan Qashqai N-Sport

The Qashqai N-Sport limited edition model, which will be limited to 600 units, presents a sportier face for Qashqai with body-coloured bumpers front and rear that incorporate matt silver trim highlights. Bodyside mouldings with matt silver trim and wheel arches are also body-colour coded, and the wheel size for the ST-L-based N-Sport has increased to 19-inches.

Further exterior flourishes include silver-painted caps for the auto folding and heated door mirrors, while inside the headlining is finished in black.

The Qashqai N-Sport joins the range priced from $35,000, just $1,000 above the ST-L on which it is based, and fits between the ST-L and range-topping Ti grades.

Its drivetrain package is unchanged from the regular Qashqai; featuring a 2.0-litre four-cylinder producing 106kW of power @ 6,000rpm and peak torque of 200Nm @ 4,400rpm. The N-Sport drives through Nissan’s Xtronic CVT transmission.
