Mazda announces pricing for 2016 CX-9

Mazda Australia have revealed official pricing for the long awaited 2016 Mazda CX-9.

The Japanese carmaker confirmed today that the entry-level Mazda CX-9 Sport will be available from $42,490*; a $1,280 reduction on the outgoing model.

Next in the lineup is the core-grade Mazda CX-9 Touring which starts at $48,890*, then the Mazda CX-9 GT from $57,390* and the range-topping Azami from $59,390*. Each variant will be offered in either front or all-wheel-drive.

As previously revealed, the second-generation Mazda CX-9 will come powered by a SKYACTIV 2.5-litre turbo petrol engine, outputting 170kW and 420Nm of torque from 2,000rpm.

The new CX-9 is also 25% more efficient than the outgoing, with a claimed 8.4L/100km for front-wheel drive and 8.8L/100km on all-wheel drive variants. This can be achieved running 91 RON or E10.

The CX-9 comes well equipped in the safety department, with the range set to include Advanced Blind Spot Monitoring, Rear Cross Traffic Alert and Smart City Brake Support.

Also, an array of additional i-ACTIVSENSE technologies will make their debut on the range topping Mazda CX-9 Azami, including Adaptive LED Headlamps with High Beam Control, Driver Attention Alert, Lane Keep-assist System and Smart Brake Support.

Currently in production, the Mazda CX-9 is set to go on sale in July.
