Jaguar XE pricing and specification announced

Jaguar has announced Australian pricing and specification for the highly anticipated XE sports saloon. The four-variant Jaguar XE range kicks off at a very competitive $60,400 plus on-roads for the entry-level XE Prestige 20t, putting the new Jaguar right in the path of the German trio, as well as the Lexus IS, in terms of pricing.

On sale in Australia from September 1, the lightweight-focused, aluminium-intensive Jaguar XE now completes the Jaguar saloon car range, sitting below the XF and XJ model lines.

Available in four trim levels – Prestige, R-Sport, Portfolio and S, the Jaguar XE range will offer a choice of four engines, from the all-new Ingenium diesel engine, to the F-Type derived 3.0-litre V6 supercharged petrol engine:

• 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbo diesel ‘20d’ delivering 132kW/430Nm. 0-100km/h in 7.8 seconds. Averaged fuel consumption rated at 4.2L/100km.
• 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbo petrol ‘20t’ delivering 147W/280Nm. 0-100km/h in 7.7 seconds. Averaged fuel consumption rated at 7.5L/100km.
• 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbo petrol ‘25t’ delivering 177kW/340Nm. 0-100km/h in 6.8 seconds. Averaged fuel consumption rated at 7.5L/100km.
• 3.0-litre V6 supercharged petrol delivering 250kW/450Nm. 0-100km/h in 5.1 seconds. Averaged fuel consumption rated at 8.1L/100km.

All engines come standard with automatic idle stop/start and are paired with a ZF eight-speed automatic transmission.

The choice in luxury starts with the Prestige, with an interior space trimmed in Taurus leather with contrast stitching to deliver modern progressive luxury. For customers who desire the ultimate in interior refinement, they can choose the Portfolio trim which comes with soft-grain Windsor leather with Herringbone perforation, and a stitched leatherette instrument panel to give a truly crafted interior.

For those seeking a greater expression of sporting character, the R-Sport will fit the bill offering a sports-styled exterior bodykit and sports seats in race-inspired colours.

The XE S sits at the top of the range, distinguishable with a subtly different bodykit and unique interior colour content. To further underline its sporting credentials it is only available with the 3.0 litre V6 supercharged engine from the acclaimed Jaguar F-Type.
