Hyundai Sonata scores more equipment for MY17 upgrade

Hyundai has packed the stylish Sonata sedan with more standard equipment for its MY17 update.

New to the range are wheel-mounted paddle shifters and premium tyres on all three variants.

Additionally, mid-level Sonata Elite gains rain-sensing wipers, heated front seats, front parking assist system and an electronic parking brake with auto-hold function.

Previously available only as standard equipment on Sonata’s Premium flagship, Hyundai’s expansive twin-panel panoramic glass sunroof becomes optional on Sonata Elite.

Sonata Premium acquires a comprehensive suite of advanced safety features including Blind Spot Detection, Lane Departure Warning System, Lane Change Assist, Rear Cross Traffic Alert and advanced Smart Cruise Control

Sonata Active and Elite’s standard 17-inch alloy wheels now come fitted with 215/55R17 Continental Conti Premium Contact 5 tyres, while Sonata Premium’s 18-inch alloys now come shod with 235/45R18 Michelin Pilot 3 tyres, which are said to improve grip level, ride comfort and quietness.

There is also a range of new exterior colours, including the metallic/mica Shade Bronze.

Inside, beige leather interior trim is now offered as an option on the Sonata Elite and Premium variants featuring White Cream, Midnight Black or Shade Bronze exterior paint.
