Hyundai introduces menacing Veloster Street Turbo

Hyundai has introduced its mean-looking Veloster Street Turbo Special Edition to the Australian market.

Based on the Veloster SR Turbo +, the limited edition model is limited to just 200 units and is priced from $34,990 plus on-road costs – $1,000 more than the regular model. However, it is said to bring $3,000 worth of exclusive additional features.

These include:

• RAYS Gram Lights alloy wheels in a semi-gloss black finish
• Exclusive Dazzling Blue Mica exterior paint colour
• Turbo Sports Blue interior package
• Phantom Black body side skirt, front spoiler and rear diffuser inserts, grille surround, side mirror covers and rear roof spoiler
• High Intensity Discharge (HID) Xenon headlights
• Unique floor mats with embroidered ‘Street’ logo and blue stitching
• Front guard ‘Street’ badges in black and chrome finish

Inside, the Veloster Street Turbo Special Edition features the Turbo Sports Blue interior package which includes leather-appointed heated & ventilated front sports bucket seats with blue bolsters and blue contrast stitching, blue front seatbelts, blue front door grip handles and centre console side garnishes.

Blue contrast stitching also features on the leather-appointed door armrests, centre console armrest, steering wheel and manual transmission gear lever boot.

Additionally, the Veloster Street Turbo Special Edition gets unique floor mats with blue-stitched edging and embroidered ‘Street’ logos as standard.

Like the Veloster Series II Turbo +, the Special Edition incorporates sports instrumentation, 7-inch LCD touchscreen Satellite Navigation with CD player, MP3 functionality and Sat Nav Update Plan, a Panoramic glass sunroof, climate-control air-conditioning with auto defog function and a wealth of other desirable features.

The car’s drivetrain remains unchanged, with the 1.6-litre Turbo GDi four-cylinder engine delivering 150kW and 265Nm of torque. Power is sent to the front wheels via a six-speed manual or optional 7-speed dual-clutch transmission.

According to Hyundai, the Veloster Street Turbo Special Edition also benefits from experience gained during local chassis development of the VelosterRaptor concept and carries over the front stabilizer bar and increased spring rates of the regular Veloster Turbo +.
