Hyundai and Bisimoto develops 1040hp (745kW) Santa Fe for SEMA

Hyundai and Bisimoto have again partnered for the upcoming SEMA show, this time going absolutely power-obsessed by developing a 1,040 horsepower (775kW), rear-drive Santa Fe SUV.

The hyper SUV, called the “Santa-Fast”, gets its power from a flex-fuel twin-turbocharged 3.8-litre Hyundai Lambda V6 powerplant, positioned longitudinally and driving the rear wheels through a 6-speed manual gearbox sourced from the Genesis R-Spec. The SEMA-spec Santa Fe also gains a Hyundai Equus rear differential for optimum traction.

To keep handling in check, Bisimoto equipped the Santa Fe with a set of KW coilover suspension, custom Bisimoto axles and half shaft and custom Rothfab rear sub-frame conversion. Putting the power down is a set of Fifteen52, 19-inch Tarmac R40 Wheels wrapped in sticky Toyo R888 tyres measuring 265/35R19, while stopping power comes courtesy of Buddy Club 4-piston brakes with Bisimoto brackets.

Inside, the Bisimoto Santa Fe gains Momo Daytona EVO seats, Bisimoto reservoir socks and 4-point chromo roll cage.

“Bisimoto takes pleasure in making any vehicle fun to drive, even a larger SUV,” said ‘Bisi Ezerioha, owner of Bisimoto. “Our Santa-Fast SUV is a proof-of-concept vehicle with driving capabilities that our customers can count on every day they turn the key.”

The Bisimoto Hyundai Santa Fe will make its debut at the 2016 SEMA in November.
