The all-new Audi Q2 has arrived in Australia as Launch Editions ahead of its official launch later this month. Featuring elements from the Q2 Edition #1 shown in Europe last August, the limited edition models offer the very first owners a unique Q2 model with exclusive quantum grey paint, black and Manhattan grey exterior details and 19-inch alloy wheels.

Priced from $49,900 plus on-road costs, the Q2 Launch Edition features S line exterior styling and black contrasting elements for a more distinctive appeal. It also comes packing a suite of driver assistance systems including adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go, and active lane and side assist.

At launch this February 24, the first ever Audi Q2 will be offered initially in two model lines: the 1.4 TFSI design on which the Launch Edition is based for $41,100 and the 2.0 TDI quattro sport for $47,900. Both stickers exclude on-road costs. The range shares Audi’s seven-speed S tronic dual-clutch automatic transmission as standard.

The entry level turbocharged 1.4-litre TFSI model features fuel-saving Cylinder-on-Demand technology that shuts down two of the four cylinders under light throttle loads. It develops 110kW/250Nm and sips just 5.3L/100km on the average cycle. Offered exclusively with quattro all-wheel drive the 2.0 TDI turbo diesel engine produces 110kW/340Nm, with fuel economy of 5.0L/100km. A turbo 2.0 TFSI quattro petrol model with 140kW/320Nm will be offered in the second half of 2017.

Competing with the Mercedes GLA and Infiniti QX30, the Audi Q2 comes well equipped with standard features including Autonomous Emergency Braking (AEB), MMI Navigation, bluetooth and smartphone interface, voice control and parking system plus with rear view camera.

Automatic air-conditioning with dual-zone climate control, leather-appointed seats, auto-dimming interior mirror, a contrasting C-pillar blade and either 17- or 18-inch alloy wheels, depending on the model, round out the key highlights.

The 2.0 TDI quattro also gains an electric tailgate, sport seats and Audi side assist as standard equipment.

“The highly anticipated all-new Audi Q2 will establish itself as a unique offering in the premium compact SUV segment,” said Andrew Doyle, Managing Director of Audi Australia. “It will open up the Audi brand to a new range of young and young-at-heart buyers.”

“This new model will exceed customer expectations of how an Audi should look, thanks to its progressive polygonal design language, and what it should offer, thanks to a suite of infotainment and connectivity technologies. We are very pleased to be launching this game-changing vehicle to Australia in such a competitive package.”

The latest member of the Q family sports Audi’s latest interpretation of the Singleframe grille in octagonal design. The Q2’s low roof descends and merges into the C-pillars with color offset blades to accentuate its sportiness. At the back, there’s a pair LED taillights, while the diffuser has an underbody-protection look.

The all-new Audi Q2 is available for order now.
