First bare carbon Pinninfarina Battista electric hypercar unveiled

Pininfarina has taken the wraps of its stunning 1,398kW (1,874hp) Battista electric hypercar, which is said to be inspired by New York City.

Finished in a red, white and blue colour scheme created by Pininfarina’s Bespoke customisation programme, the exterior colour might look like a normal red, white and blue colour scheme at first glance, but look closer and they are anything but.

The deep blue colour is actually a blue carbon fibre weave dubbed Exposed Signature Carbon with Blu Iconica thread. According to Pininfarina, it’s said to be the first application of its kind in the automotive world.

While the exotic bare carbon made up most of the car’s sculpted bodywork, the other colours are painstakingly painted by hand and take hundreds of hours to complete.

The Performance Stripes and Pinstripe in Bianco Sestriere Metalic are also applied by hand. A red Exterior Jewellery Pack as well as the Furiosa Carbon Accent Pack in black Exposed Signature Carbon complete the exterior theme.

Meanwhile, the Impulso wheels are finished in Dark Matt Grey and come with black aluminium centre-lock rings to match the roof, diffuser, rear wing and headlight engraving.

Inside, the Pilota seats are drapped in black leather and feature carbon seatbacks in the same Iconica Blue thread as the exterior. The exterior colour scheme continues inside with Iconica Blue Alcantara with navy inserts, Iconica Blu stitching with a red and white cross stitch, red headrest logos, and white seatbelts.

With a long history of coach building, each of the 150 Battista’s built will be one-of-a-kind, with the company’s Bespoke customization programme offering customers 13.9 quintillion unique exterior combinations and 128 million interior combinations.

Customers will design their Battista in a new Atelier space right alongside the production line in Pininfarina’s renovated Cambiano facility, which is set to open later this year.

Sara Campagnolo, Head of Color and Materials Design at Automobili Pininfarina, said: “The Pininfarina name has a storied heritage of individual cars, and the Battista continues this legacy as every vehicle will be truly bespoke by design.
