Fiat Freemont Crossroad adds V6 power and tough new looks

The Fiat Freemont range has received a new flagship – the Freemont Crossroad, with price starting from $36,500 excluding on roads. Joining the existing four-cylinder petrol and diesel models, the Freemont Crossroad features a Chrysler-sourced 3.6-litre V6 engine that develops 206kW and 342Nm. Power is sent to the front wheels through a six-speed automatic transmission.

The Freemont Crossroad combines all the strengths of an SUV – including space, style and driving position – with the best features of an MPV, like seven seats as standard, 32 seat configurations, 25 storage compartments and huge luggage space on board.

Visual enhancements distinguish the Freemont Crossroad from the rest of the range. This include a new front bumper with chrome colour inserts, glossy black front grille and fog light frames, chrome colour side skirts and roof rails, black frames for the front and rear light clusters, and the rear bumper with chrome colour under-body protective insert. The Freemont Crossroad also has brand-new 19-inch burnished “Hyper Black” five-spoke alloy wheels.

Inside, new features include the black leather seats with sports mesh inserts and light ardesian grey top stitching, which is also applied on the central armrest and door panels. A new Liquid Graphite colour finish highlights the dashboard, instrumentation, central console, door panel and steering wheel.

The top-spec Freemont is equipped as standard an 8.4-inch Uconnect touch screen satellite navigation system with maps, DVD player and SD slot, Bluetooth connection, rear parking camera and an Alpine Premium sound system with six speakers, 368-W amplifier and subwoofer.
