Facelifted Tesla Model S officially unveiled

Hot on the heels of yesterday’s leak, Tesla has today officially taken the wraps off the updated Model S.

Following the footsteps of the Model 3 and Model X, the facelifted Model S features a grille-less front fascia with revised bumper and restyled LED headlights. The new car also loses the black under protector for a body colour-coded panels for a sleeker and lower look.

Inside, the 2016 Tesla Model S gains several new options including heated and ventilated for the front seats and a new medical-grade air filtration system capable of removing at least 99.97% of particulate exhaust pollution and effectively all allergens, bacteria and other contaminants from cabin air.

There are two new wood trim options including Dark Ash and Figured Ash.

Carried over unchanged, the Model S’ powertrain option spans from the entry-level 70D to the range-topping dual-motor P90D with Ludicrous mode that is capable of rocketing from zero to 100km/h in just 3.0 seconds.

The facelifted Tesla Model S is set to arrive in the second half of this year.
