Citroën has unveiled its latest DS model at an event in Paris. The DS 5LS luxury sedan is built for the Chinese market at the brand’s Shenzhen plant in China, and will go sale in the country in March 2014.
Measuring 4.70m in length, 1.84m with width and 1.50m in height, the DS 5LS features a prestige, sculpted grille called “DS Wings”, a nod to the DS of 1955 that takes it name from the two chrome wings connecting the headlights. Like the DS5, the boomerang-shaped DRLs give the car a distinguished front fascia.
A signature chrome side trim extends from the windows to the boot and traces a subtle shark’s fin shape across the rear side panel, a typical styling feature of DS models.
At the back, the sculpted rear end features unique LED lamps, with chrome ring set in the glass to give a 3D accent to the lighting functions.Inside, the emphasis is on luxury and premium materials such as metal, wood and semi-aniline leather. Similar to the DS5, the highlight of the leather seats is the “watch bracelet” design of the seats.

The car can also be equipped with massaging front seats, a premium audio system and an air purifier.
Under the bonnet, the DS 5LS gets one of two engines – the THP 160 and THP 200 with sequential direct injection and twin scroll turbo. It is paired with a 6-speed automatic gearbox.
Besides the DS 5LS, Citroën will also be rolling out an SUV in China in 2014. Marketing of the DS is being supported by a network of 50 DS STORES in the country’s largest cities.
