BMW M8 Competition Gran Coupe pricing and specification

BMW has announced the pricing and specification of its latest M model. Set to arrive in Q2 of 2020, the BMW M8 Competition Gran Coupé is priced from $349,900 before on-roads and options, $3,000 cheaper than the M8 Competition Coupé.

Developed alongside the BMW M8 GTE racer, the M8 is powered by a high-revving twin-turbo V8 engine generating 460kW and 750Nm. It is connected to an eight-speed M Steptronic transmission featuring Drivelogic and M Sport exhaust system for a ‘racecar like sound’.

Power is sent to all four wheels via the M xDrive all-wheel-drive system that sends the four-door coupé from 0-100km/h in a claimed 3.2 seconds.

Like the Coupé, the Gran Coupé is also able to switch from ‘AWD’ mode into ‘2WD’ by deactivating the DSC with power fed exclusively to the rear wheels.

Switching to Sport mode allows for a strong rear-bias without sacrificing front-end grip.

Other items carried over from the regular M8 Competition includes electronically adjustable dampers and the integrated braking system which allows the driver to switch between two brake pedal settings for different pedal feel.
